In my setup, cloud sync fails with the error message “Update Create failed: sftp: "Invalid filename" (SSH_FX_FAILURE)”. This happens in a cloud sync task configured in push mode to an sftp target, where filename encryption is enabled. With filename encryption disabled, the sync is successful.
I am syncing a larger amount of data here, the error happens only for a few files. However, due to limited debug capabilities in the cloud sync task, I cannot easily identify which source files cause the issues.
This is currently breaking my off-site backup, please fix.
The issue seems to be related to upstream bug , which describes the same error pattern, appeared in rclone 1.63 (which Scale is using), and seems to be resolved by either using “--inline” or upgrading rclone to 1.65.
I am willing to test solutions. However, as there does not seem to be an easy way to add additional parameters to the rclone task (to check if it works with --inline), nor to update the rclone binary to 1.65 within the Truenas install, please advice how to support here in order to resolve the issue.
