I have a (faulty) pool from a previous version of freeNAS.

Description

I would like to be able to access it so I can get the data from it and recreate it.
Although freeNAS somehow recognizes that there is a volume, it will not import it.
WHat can be done?

Being a software engineer myself, this is the most ridiculous answer I have seen in a Jira ticket in quite a while. I have seen people being fired for less. 

It is an issue with the pool and the software: freeNAS created the pool, therefore freeNAS should be able to import the pool and deal with any problems that surface. What you are telling me sounds like the latest version of Photoshop not being able to read an .psd file from an earlier version of Photoshop. Which would be ridiculous. Luckily Adobe is not that silly.

You can close my ticket. I foresaw a response in this spirit. I am just happy that I, or the company I work for, is not a paying customer. It will be a while before I'll recommend FreeNAS in any commercial setting, if ever.

you can attach a debug to the Private attachments section of this ticket and we may be able to offer advice on how to import your pool. If the pool is not importing, it is an issue with the pool, not with FreeNAS (meaning there isn't anything we can do software-wise). This ticketing system is for fixing software bugs. Other assistance should be from the forums.

Actually it is a bug, as it does not recognize my old pool. It should.
