Hi Joe,
I'm sorry to report that it doesn't look like this is fixed.
I updated to 11.3-RC1 when it was released and recreated my vmware snapshots. I didn't really think about it until a couple of my vm's started reporting their snapshot chains were to long. I confirmed that there were a boatload of snaps on the ESXi side.
Let me know if you need anything from me.
Note: it could be I'm just totally misunderstanding what this is supposed to be doing, but I think it's supposed to create a snapshot of a vm, snap the dataset, then clean up the vmware snapshot, right? If that's correct, then yeah this is still broken for me.

We have already addressed this issue, and it be resolved in 11.3-RC1 releasing next Tuesday. Please open a new ticket for that release if the issue persists.
Hi there, I'm trying out the vmware-snapshot feature on my filer. It works in that I can see the snaps happen in the vCenter client log panel.
Problem is it doesn't clean up the snaps afterword. At a snap an hour that adds up quick!
Not sure what you need, ask me and I can get it.
