This could be a follow-on to NAS-105053. I have 3 45Drives StoragePods at work with LSI controllers and spinning rust and SSDs. There was apparently a problem in 11.3 where having SMART running on the SSDs would cause HBA resets and random reboots. I think falls under https://jira.ixsystems.com/browse/NAS-105053 , which was fixed in 11.3-u2. of the hybrid boxes were upgraded on 5/19 from 11.2-u7 to 11.3-u2.1. The third box was upgraded on 5/20, and went to 11.3u3. It was having the problem in NAS-105053, and randomly rebooting every day or two. I upgraded to 11.3-u3.2 and nothing changed. So I then turned off SMART on the SSDs, and it has been stable for 4 1/2 days so far, and I have not seen any HBA resets.
I've being told that it may take time before the firmware appear on the Broadcom site. But I was given this link to share with anybody who is interested to try the new 16.00.12.00 firmware version: https://ent.box.com/s/b6gvu67904y6lxhavreohz2uvz2jqjxe

@Brad Alexander, if you are running 93xx HBA, that I can't say for sure from only the messages file attached, it seems you are running very old firmware version on your HBA(s) – 09.00.100.00. Please update to the latest 16 or 17 available on the Broadcom site and retry the testing.
The minor bug fixed on FreeNAS side was only a trigger for the HBA firmware bug. Broadcom only very recently confirmed the firmware fix, so not sure the versions on their site now are already patched. The image we were given is labeled as 16.00.12.00. So you may need to track site updates for some time.
