Unable to install TrueNAS Core 12 Beta 2.1 with USB key on Supermicro X11DPH-I

Description

I just tried installing TrueNAS Core 12 Beta 2.1 from a USB key, and couldn't even boot from the USB key properly. I ensured I was in UEFI mode.

Hardware:

Motherboard: Supermicro X11DPH-I
Chassis: Supermicro Superchassis 417BE1C-R1K28LPB
HBAs: 3 x LSI 9305-24i
Data Drives: 72 x 4 TB Samsung 860 SSDs - Connected to HBAs
SLOG Drives: 2 x 1 TB Samsung 970 NVME - Connected to Motherboard
Boot Drives: 2 x 500 TB Samsung 960 EVO - Connected to Motherboard

A couple of relevant error messages were:

Ignoring Boot0016: No Media Path
Failed to find bootable partition
ERROR: cannot open /boot/lua/loader.lua: too many open files.

  This can be closed.

Have you tried to disable OPROMs for you HBAs?  It was never a good idea to expose so many disks to the loader.  At very least it makes boot longer, at worst (as possibly here) it cause boot problems.  I bet legacy boot would have problems ever earlier, but 76 disks with partitions on each (that is probably why it tells "Probing 226 block devices") may be too much even for UEFI.
