Hardware description:
Delll R900 4 CPU/ 4 Core - Onboard Video - LSI SAS 2008 - Supermicro external 24 bay enclosure - ISCSI - *NEVER* ran beta version of FreeNSD/TrueNAS but this has been upgraded from 9.x thrue TrueNas 12.0-U2.
Delima: Ran out of space on old 8G USB to upgrade further then TureNas 12.0-US: The USB was quite old and we wanted to replace it so we followed this proceedure:
1) Obtain new 32GB Sandisk usb stick
2) Backup up our current runing configuration via TrueNas GUI
3) Retrievied from online archive a 12.0-U2 Install disk (the TrueSan UI reported we were running 12.0-U2)
4) Install TrueNaas 12.0-U2 to new 32G USB
5) Boot new install, amd confiured only the managment port so that we could restore our backup
6) Restored our backup file - and the server rebooted.
SO FOR SO GOOD **
Upon reboot ** NO GUI INTERFACE ** - you coud ping true nas - you could telnet to both both [prt 80 and 443 and opbtain a connection. You coul get on the console and see all pools where healthy. On the console you could see that iscsictl show isisi target were up and active.
Now how to proceed. Obsiously I have all logs still on the 32GB sandisk USB that we updated to - what would be useful. Was my upgrade proceedure incorrect and if how so?
You guys have always been great and I thank you for you time and concideration to my quetions.
