There are various situations in which xattrs used as alternate datastreams (stream) may need to have their naming schemes normalized, or data format type altered en-masse. This is to allow undoing problems arising from misconfigurations where SMB shares to same path may have differing encoding configurations for stream names, different prefixes in use, or different streams_xattr configurations. There may also be times when one configuration style must be migrated to another.

Ideally, this tool should be usable (and safe to use) by a junior tier 2 support member.
