smbd.core found

Description

Hi, my TrueNAS (community edition) has alerted me with this message:
"The following system core files were found: smbd.core. Please create a ticket at https://jira.ixsystems.com/ and attach the relevant core files along with a system debug. Once the core files have been archived and attached to the ticket, they may be removed by running the following command in shell: 'rm /var/db/system/cores/*'."
I've attached you the suggested files on this ticket.
Sometimes the smb service stucks and I have to restart it (or reboot) to solve. If I delete the files and restart the smb service, this file and the message appear again.

Please open new ticket if issue recurs in U6.1.

Ok, I will update to version U6.1 next days and back report to you.

Okay. This area of samba has changed significantly between Samba 4.12 and Samba 4.13 (which is in 12.0-U6.1). So upgrade to U6.1 or U7 once it is released and see if issue recurs in that release.

Looks like issue with tdb holding share mode locks:

[2021/11/15 15:43:14.261865, 0] ../../source3/locking/share_mode_lock.c:448(share_mode_data_store) PANIC: assert failed at ../../source3/locking/share_mode_lock.c(448): !share_entries_exist [2021/11/15 15:43:14.261893, 0] ../../source3/lib/util.c:830(smb_panic_s3) PANIC (pid 25898): assert failed: !share_entries_exist [2021/11/15 15:43:14.263010, 0] ../../lib/util/fault.c:265(log_stack_trace)

Right. I was looking at old case where samba was asserting.
