iocage is capable of managing pulling releases on it's own. I am not sure how you migrated your jails but looking at your current setup but it seems the migration did not migrate all datasets and left the iocage dataset in a unconfigured state which is why you ran into the above issue.
If you migrate the complete iocage dataset via UI to a different pool using replication tasks, you shouldn't face any issues. Please let me know if you run into issues even with replicating the datasets. Thanks!

Looking at the log gave me a hint of what the issue may be. Seems like having releases in subdirectories is the problem. Once I created a dataset named 12.2-RELEASE and copied all files in root it now works.

Can you please attach a debug file to the "Private Attachments" section of this ticket? To generate a debug file on TrueNAS CORE, log in to the TrueNAS web interface, go to System > Advanced, then click SAVE DEBUG and wait for the file to download to your local system.

I am running TrueNAS 12-U8. A couple of months ago I migrated my three jails to a new pool. The migration went well and all jails are operating correctly. If I try to install a new jail or plugin I get this error:
"...failure Exception: RuntimeError Message: RELEASE: 12.2-RELEASE not found! Partial plugin destroyed".
I checked that the pool selected is correct and the release is present in the "releases" folder. As a note, I deleted the iocage dataset from the old pool after migrating to the new pool if this makes a difference.
