you are correct, in 22.02 "SSH Connections" are only used for ZFS replication and rsync tasks use the private key set up in the user's home directory.
should we change this for 22.12?

Can I confirm if is a bug or a undocumented trick?

I want to set up Rsync between SCALE and remote server (not SCALE) through SSH,
I followed the instruction of https://www.truenas.com/docs/scale/dataprotection/rsynctasksscale/ , and set a "SSH Connections".
However, later when I add Rsync in "Data Protection > Rsync Tasks", it says "In order to use rsync over SSH you need a user with a private key (DSA/ECDSA/RSA) set up in home dir."
I did add may key-pair and binded it in "SSH Connections", but it is not in home dir. After following the "Can this be set up in a command line instead?", it worked.
Is it not implemented? Or I misused this function?
