what is “HDD Standby” setting value for the problematic drives?
Alexander Jakob February 10, 2023 at 1:49 PM
Just for Info, i moved to TrueNAS-SCALE-23.10-MASTER-20230210-025332.
Problem still there but some Changes.
Wakup Time moved from 3 to 4 Minutes.
Disabling smart on Drive does not help anymore.
Only disable Smart on Drive and disable Smart Service will stop wakeup.
(i will add current debug in first post)

Hi,
since Bluefin (22.12.0, 23.10 tested) spun down Hdds are wake up after 3min.(stopped the time)
(for testing an empty drive with no Pool etc. is used and drive is manual stopped)
“hdparm -Y /dev/sdx” to set drive to sleep mode
“hdparm -C /dev/sdx” to get drive mode
with default setting + Smartservice Powermode set to Standby drive is wakeup after 3min.
Disable Smart service does not help.
Only disable Smart direct on the Drive (Storage/Disk/Edit/untick Enable SMART) helps.
Looks like some settings are made there and are not overitten by the global Setting from Smart Service.
With Angelfish this was working.
Debug from 23.10 Nightly is attached.
If you need more Info etc. please let me know.
