This issue was previously reported at , which was closed with an indication that updates had already happened before I reported (they hadn’t, at least not in any relevant way), and that a documentation ticket would be opened (with no reference to that ticket). When I load that page today, it states it was last modified on 4 Jan 23--so the caching issues mentioned in the comments on that bug can’t be relevant. And every issue mentioned on that bug is still present:
This page still says to use /etc/netcli to launch the menu. This will break things on SCALE.
The menu options given in that page still don’t match the product.
The nonsensical screen shot is still there
It still has no information about how to actually configure an interface (like, e.g., to set a static IP address, which would surely be one of the major tasks there)
It still, while purporting to document use of the console setup menu, directs users to use a different tool instead
And while a lesser issue than the others, it still directs users to use Google’s public DNS servers
And to those, another has been added: There’s now an expandable section marked “Alias or Static IP address?” which contains some nonsense about configuring a static IP address using the “Configure static routes” option in the console setup menu. If it’s actually possible to set a static IP address for the system using the “Configure static routes” menu option, that section really needs to be updated to describe how to do it, because there’s no obvious way to do so. Or if it isn’t possible (as I suspect), that section needs to be deleted entirely.
