furthermore, the cciss driver on linux is obsolete and removed from the kernel in version 4.14. It was replaced by the hpsa driver, either way, we don’t support autodetection of hardware RAID controllers currently. If you wish to have HP Smart Array Raid controllers be auto-detected, then you’ll need to open a feature ticket so it can be voted on by the community. If there is a strong interest, then we’ll add the feature.

you’ve opened 3 tickets about this problem 2 of which are duplicates. Please don’t spam us with the same ticket. We prevent the -d
option by design because we add it ourselves based off detection logic we have in our smart plugin. This is by design and we don’t plan on allowing adding -d
in the future. The reason why we disallow it is if you configure your smart.conf with multiple -d
entries, the smartd servicie will not start.

It says -d is not a valid option, this used to work fine.
