Im working with older, but still capable hardware, in this case an ASUS DSBV-DS 2u rack machine. its a dual 8-core Xeon, and 64gb memory, lots of power for the job I'm asking of it. However, it has no concept of UEFI in the bios and requires a PXE to boot.
the ISO for the latest Truenas does not seem to provide this, when trying to boot via DVD or USB, either the bios freezes right at the handoff point, or it displays the operating system not found.
ive worked around this by loading the iso into YUMI PXE but even the resulting install onto a usb drive will not boot. I will however boot if installed on a sata drive.
Something has changed between Freenas and TrueNas to exclude these machines from booting.
