Can't update system + apps using the current Internet protocol

Description

When TrueNAS machine is connected to an IPv6-only network, it fails to update both the operating system and apps.

 

Contrary to the statement in this page, my system cannot work in an IPv6-only environment. Matter of fact, this very bug tracker site doesn’t work on the current Internet protocol as well, so I had to fallback my connection to the jurassic standard in order to file this bug report too.

IPv4 is not a jurassic standard. Some of the largest carriers/isps don’t even have ipv6 only networks. IPv6 was something we turned on but we found that other users all over the world were connected to ISPs that had broken IPv6 implementations. This prevented them from accessing our CDN entirely even though they were using dual-stack setups. This is 100% out of our control and there isn’t much we can do about it. I'd also argue that you’ll be very hard pressed to find proper ipv6 support for the apps as well. While some “support it”, most do not.

Anyways, I’ll notify the infrastructure team about this so they can investigate.
