Issue created by iXsystems developer. Escalating to Engineering for additional triage. Changed issue type to defect from bug as this is reported against an unreleased version.

We have files being diverted to `/var/trash` in the debian postinst / preinst files for the middleware repo. This should be cleaned up prior to generating the update image in the scale-build process.
