Hello. Unfortunately since this is very hardware specific (Areca) we do not have enough resources nor hardware available to assist. We will happily review/include any patches that are sent our way. Thank you for understanding.

Hi support,
We have a problem with smartd service that is not running.
Also we have a problem with SMART status also.
Device: /dev/arcmsr0 [areca_disk#07_enc#01], not capable of SMART self-check.
Current alerts:
Device: /dev/arcmsr0 [areca_disk#06_enc#01], not capable of SMART self-check.
Device: /dev/arcmsr0 [areca_disk#06_enc#01], failed to read SMART Attribute
Data.
Device: /dev/arcmsr0 [areca_disk#06_enc#01], Read SMART Self-Test Log Failed.
Device: /dev/arcmsr0 [areca_disk#01_enc#01], not capable of SMART self-check.
Device: /dev/arcmsr0 [areca_disk#01_enc#01], failed to read SMART Attribute
Data.
Device: /dev/arcmsr0 [areca_disk#01_enc#01], Read SMART Self-Test Log Failed.

But when i run
smartctl -t short --device=areca,1 /dev/arcmsr0
smartctl -l selftest --device=areca,1 /dev/arcmsr0
I can read test results and see that there is no error.
Also we can not start SMART service in SERVICES.
Can you help us to fix this?
