initramfs cannot find boot-pool

Description

HP Proliant micro N54L 16GiB with LSI9211i SAS controller, all storage on the LSI controller, four original disk slots, four 2.5" slots added in place of CDROM.
2 x 120GB Kingston V300 SSD (mirrored for boot)
2 x Samsung 850 500GB SSD (mirrored for Apps)
4 x 4TB HDD (raidz1 for KH_backup)

Running 24.10.2 (same problem with 24.10.1) loads initramfs then /sbin/zpool sees the Apps and KH_backup pools but is not finding the boot-pool, but /sbin/zpool import -d /dev does find boot-pool and can import it. Once boot-pool is imported, exit from initramfs and the system continues to boot correctly.

Thanks for the ticket but this is not something we have the time or resources to investigate. This is almost guaranteed to be related to the specific hardware and how the boot drives are configured. There were some, potentially, related reports about similar issues in the past and it was suggested to make a backup of your configuration database (including the secret seed) and performing a fresh install of the latest version of TrueNAS. Either way, there isn’t anything actionable we can do here.

Uploading images showing console.

001 & 002 are /sbin/zpool import output

002.jpg

003 & 004 are `/sbin/zpool import -d /dev` output

003.jpg
004.jpg

005 is /sbin/zpool import -d /dev/ boot-pool and listing and status of zpools

After this I exit and the system continues booting normally.

I do not understand what is different about the boot-pool such that I need to specify the path to search for the disk devices. The partitioning is what the 24.10.1 installed put on the two Kingston V300 120GB SSDs.
