timemachine share no longer working, following switch from fangtooth BETA to RC

Description

  • upgraded from fangtooth BETA to RC

  • user gets error message from TimeMachine
    "selected network backup disk does not support the required capabilities"

  • TimeMachine was working on BETA, no changes to that samba share were done during the time

Sorry, I keep searching and searching. I don’t have NFS shares turned on. The other settings don’t sound like what you mentioned. Where do I find this setting? Any help much appreciated.

This is due to changes regarding kernel oplock configuration. We needed to globally disable SMB2 leases. If you need time machine you will need to turn off:

MULTI_PROTOCOL_NFS

preset for your shares.
